Hidden gem! This hole-in-the-wall place is not to be skipped out on! Growing up in the south, it's hard to find good soul food or southern food in general. If you want real soul food this is where you'll find it. Everything was delicious- seasoned and cooked perfectly! I LOVED my order of the Cornmeal Crusted Catfish with Collard Green and Cabbage with Turkey and Fried okra. I ordered with the Red Kool-aid. Service was friendly and fast! Everyone was treated like family and with love. Our newborn started crying and they were so fast to help us get to-go boxes after our meal. Will definitely be back! Parking is very confusing. There is a back alley but best bet is the street parking out front.
Went in not knowing what to expect and blown away! The soul food was all on point and cooked extremely well. Food came out hot and fresh with lots of flavor. Outside location is a small strip mall with semi confusing parking and a small sign but inside is well decorated and cute. Service was great. Lots of people getting to go orders. Will be back!
Everything was amazing. The wattress Yvette was fabulous and so friendly. I love the food and the ambiance. I even met the owner and her son!!!! She was so sweet!!!! We will be back!!!!!
The food was great, the service was amazing and the waiters had a great attitude as well. The atmosphere was very chill and great music as well. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for some soul food.
Food The fried items are simply delicious. I have tried the gizzards, chicken, Catfish, and salmon croquettes. Pesonal favorite are the gizzards. Sides are okay. I didn't like the mac n cheese. The greens and cabbage are good. Beans and rice are okay. Cornbread is good but crunchy on the top. Candied yams are good. Full bar with reasonable prices. Service is good. The server works hard to accommodate requests and to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Atmosphere Can't help but to boop to the beat of the music and scrunch your toes while filling your belly. I call this a juke joint for food. The best kind of restaurant. Not fancy but warm and inviting.
Came in to visit from Vegas. Park Hill was where I grew up. Knew about this place when it first opened awhile back. My first stop off the plane. Have to admit food was outstanding!! Everything was hot!! Props to the cook and the owner!! A major staple to the area!! Will definitely be back!!
This place looks quite different from when the forest opened. Good environment in the dining room. They did have someone at the front checking online or door dash orders. They had it all under control even calling door dash after an order sat for a time without being picked up. Family establishment, family vibes.
